Mwahahahahaha....

Hi DarkGothicMistress! It's been 666 (wow, that's a big number) days since you joined Xanga...

People who need to comment on everything for the mere sake of hearing themselves talk, or perhaps to mitigate their low self-esteem, seriously piss me off.  Plus, they truly can ruin a good movie.  Other than that, Land of the Dead fucking rocked .  Romero is truly the god of the zombie flick.  I just hate people who go in there not even knowing who Romero is, or who don't even know that this film is a continuation of his previous trilogy.

Land of the Dead opened today !  Can't wait to see it.  Romero just rocks.  This movie has been in the works for years.  Hopefully I'll get around to checking it out either tonight or tomorrow

Other than Land of the Dead, Dark Water, and the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (because Tim Burton just kicks ass), there really aren't any summer flicks that I'm all that interested in seeing.  Everyone is ranting and raving about Batman Begins and Mr. & Mrs. Smith, but I really have no desire whatsoever to see them.  Summer flicks just generally suck in my opinion, and the options seem to get suckier every passing year .  Joe wants to see War of the Worlds though, and he even bought the book so he can read it as well, so I'll probably end up seeing that, but even that doesn't look appealing to me.  I'm so sick of Tom Cruise.

Joe's Birthday is on Monday!  He still hasn't decided what he wants to do yet.  Monday is such a crappy day to have your birthday on.  I guess we'll probably do something this weekend to celebrate instead, though I have no idea what.  Some of his friends invited us over tomorrow, but I don't really want to go.  I feel so weird around his friends.  They all know each other from USC, and I wasn't even in the picture at that point in time.  They all share fond memories and stories, and I feel totally and completely out of place because I have no idea what they're talking about.  I end up sitting there quiet and utterly bored.  I feel bad if I go, because I'm the odd one out and I come off as too quiet and shy, but I feel bad if I don't go because I'm not being supportive of Joe hanging out with his friends, and in that case I'm still too shy because I'm not even there to socialize.  Total lose/lose situation.

People just generally suck, and, for the most part, I can't stand being around them .

I have to take my car in for service first thing tomorrow morning.  My 3,000 mile oil change and tire rotation and stuff.  Even though I haven't hit 3,000 miles yet .  The alarm was installed Tuesday and seems to be working ok, so that's cool!  I just have a crazy, bulky set-up now for my keys, since I have the keys, and then 2 clicker thingys to get into the car (one for the doorlocks and one to arm/disarm the alarm).

Yay!  I just got Tori Amos tickets through the online presale!  I figured the seats would be a little better through the presale, but that's cool.  There isn't really a bad seat in the house at the Greek Theater, that venue is truly amazing.  The last time she was there was awesome.  I can't wait !

Father's day was alright I guess.  Went to my parent's house, then my dad and I went to visit Davida.  Her new Fresian, Music of the Night (aka - "Musie") is gorgeous.  It was definitely taxing on my emotions.  I miss riding so much.  I felt like a complete ass when I started crying in front of her.  Perhaps one day I can get back in the saddle and pick up three-day eventing again .  At any rate, Davida gave me a beautiful photo of Phantom that I need to get a nice frame for and hang up somewhere.  I also might head over and check out Musie at a dressage show in a couple weeks.  Hehe.....I always had a love/hate relationship with dressage .  Those of you who might have competed in 3-day will understand .

I met my brother's "friend" as well.  At this point, he's completely denying that it's his girlfriend, which I find humorous.  He's been spending a lot of time with her recently, and who the hell else could drag my brother to a Backstreet Boys concert ?  He hates that stupid boy-band as much as I do.  But, that's his business .

In other news, tomorrow Joe and I are paying about $200 per car to get motion-sensor alarms installed in both of our cars.  Hopefully it has some effect .  Part of me thinks that it won't make a difference, and that if someone really wants to get into our cars then they'll find a way to get into our cars.  However, part of me *hopes* that if an alarm sounds when someone gets too close to the car then perhaps the culprit will take off wanting to avoid the attention.  Joe thinks it'll help.  We shall see.

On Saturday we went out to dinner.  I am not generally too fond of Mexican food.  It can be really good, but I have to be in the mood for it.  And when I am, Joe takes advantage of it because it's his favorite .  I find it fascinating (and irritating) how Mexican food is probably one of the easiest types of food to make vegetarian, but most Mexican restaurants hardly have anything vegetarian on the menu.  How hard is it to simply skip putting the meat in a burrito, taco, quesadilla, fajitas or nachos?  Yet when you ask waitors/waitresses about this, they look at you like you're crazy.  However, I actually managed to find a new dish that is quite good, as well as vegetarian (one of two vegetarian menu options)

We went to Barnes & Noble right after dinner.  I always love going there.  I just have trouble curbing my spending at that store.  However, we had a 20% off coupon from our B&N membership, and saving some money is always cool .  We each got three new books, and I'm still waiting on two that I ordered from there a while ago as well.  Off to do some reading.....
